About ???

As I have said, this small group of pages is my work / play area.  There may be some time between changes or they may come daily, it will just depend on my schedule.

Also, the changes may depend on if I am getting any help.  If my wife is helping it may take longer than if I am working alone; training does have its costs.

Since I am in the process of changing my entire website, this page will be very bare for now but I do want to get it built so everything will be uniform.

?? Something to look at ??

  • 1958 Nash
    Metro

As you can see, the Nash Metro was not a family car. The curb weight for this car was about 1800 lbs. and it would give around 38 mpg. at 45 mph.  Top speed was between 70 and 75 mph but it was really meant for in-town driving at speeds 50 mph and below.

  • 1958
    Golden Hawk
    (by Studebaker)

Many believed that Studebaker was way ahead of the times for car design and that may have been why they were not as popular as they should have been.

The Golden Hawk would have been a precurser to the muscle cars of the 60's.  It had a Packard 352 cu. In. V8 engine with 275 horsepower, giving it a huge power-to-weight ratio.  So, in 1958 if you wanted to drive fast, look sporty and you didn't care about gas mileage, this was the car for you.

  • 1968 Pontiac
    GTO

The GTO started in 1964 with a 389 cu.in. engine and continued until 1973 with the 400 cu.in. power plant.  This car fit very nicely in the 'Muscle Car' group and it was fun to drive.  In the mid-60's when the muscle cars were so popular, the GTO gave you all of the power you needed and also more comfort than most of the Dodge products.  So just strap yourself in and go fast...

  • Ferrari, Dino
    {Concept}

All you get to do is look at this one.  Just so we are on the same page, an entry level Ferrari starts at around $195,00.00, and there is a waiting list.  All Ferraris are hand made and are premium all of the way.  Now, I don't want you to think this car is on my shopping list but I have always been impressed by the looks of the Ferrari.  From what I have seen I believe they could make a station wagon look good !!

Time to Think About Winter...

White Pass Railroad Snow Blower

We saw this little snow-blower when we were in Alaska.  It is used clear the drifts from many of the passes on the White Pass Railroad.

Snow Blower in Action

I didn't get to see the machine being used but I did talk to one of the men that use it.  He said that as big as it is, they have had to have it towed out of the drifts many times.

Dall Sheep in Denali National Park

This guy was only 6 or 8 feet from our bus window on a tour thru the park.  That trip thru Denali was the best day on the 12 day trip.  Absolute proof that GOD knew what He was doing when He created this world and everything on it.

River Birch After 2008 Ice Storm

We almost lost this birch tree after an ice storm December 19th, 2008.  We were very lucky, many people had big trees down and many were without power for a week.
